Looking for a new Phablet?

After my newest phablet broke, all I could think about was the next toy. So I started my research, I due to my personal and professional needs, I always tend to get the best, no matter the price tag. So in case you are looking for a phablet I created this simple table to help you find the right one.

After reading the review for each phablet, it makes it even thougher to decide which one to choose. The innovative 3D touch on the iPhone 6S+ sounds like something I would love to try, but the desire for a camera with more MP and the resolution are a breaking deal for me, even if iOS is a great software. The new Nexus 6P, seems like it's going to be a new great toy, too good to be true, the only issue that pops in my mind keeping me from throwing my money to them, it's the maker of this phone, which is known and by experience not the best hardware manufacturer, let's cross finger and hope for the best. As it came along the next phablet that caught my eye was the Xperia Z5 Premium, for this one, by experience I know Sony brings reliable hardware, but my issue with this phone is definitely the screen size and its resolution, but hey it has an expandable storage, which comes really handy when you are a professional engineer. The next in my list came to be the LG V10, a technology wonder now a days, LG went with all their might into this flagship. This phone not only has TWO screens but it also comes with TWO front cameras, you know for those selfies lovers. Even if LG prides their mobile technology comes with great cameras, the 16MP main camera does not allow me to leave my professional camera at home, but definitely two killing features on this phablet are the expandable storage and the removable battery. Then it comes, the Galaxy S6 Edge+, the moment I saw this techno-wonder, I fell in love with it. My hands down for Samsung, the visual design of it's astonishing, but unfortunately by experience at first hand, I was one of the lucky ones to get the S6 Edge with the heating problems. And therefore even if this one of the most eye appealing phablets, I am not keeping it as my first choice. For my next choice I had to turn to one of the most hardware durable and reliable company according to my personal experience, Motorola. The newest Moto X Pure Edition comes in many colors and a great 12MP camera, but my complain to Motorola would be the missing TouchID and the big turn off, it doesn't come with Type-C USB.

After reviewing the designs of all the phone and those little features that just close the deal, sadly I could not find the right one just yet. Don't get me wrong but when I invest in a new phone I am not only looking for the front cameras and a great screen, but also the small things that make this not just a phablet for everyday use but an electronic that makes easier to handle the everyday techy choirs. Some days I use my phablet more than my computer, thefore I am looking for tha piece of hardware that just fits to my hand. Most of this designs are made for the neutral position of your hands, but when it comes to the ergonomics of fingers they all leave a lot to ask. I do not blame them since phablets are relatively a new product, but they leave a lot to wish when you know they are huge companies that have the sources to do something better. After testing the hand argonometrics in many phones and phablets out there in the market one in particular caught my fingers thankfulness, the Nexus 6, this phablet felt definitely a gradable toy, in particular when you spend hours watching videos or video conferences. Although the Nexus 6 was missing that touch that just assures you that your phablet is not just an electronic but an extension of you, that's when LG caught my attention with the leather backs. Don't get me wrong I love covers, but what is the deal of buying a phone and on the side buying a cover, I like to show off my $600 toy not a $50 cover.

Also remember when acquiring a new electronic, not always the higher the number means better. All of the time the interaction between the hardware and software is one of the main factors, that's why Apple keeps the throne of the mobile market. By experience in the past I opted to to replace a professional camera by using the Nokia Lumia 930, with a 20MP main camera, all I have to say is that I learned my lesson. I am not a professional photographer but I love to record visual memories, my best friend whom is reporter for a newspaper is always buying LG phones, but she comments that the software is too complicated. Like I say, the balance of hardware and software has to be at a balance in order to have a great product, which many companies are still trying to accomplish.

I am a picky consumer when it comes to hardware, and I know that many companies do not include the best hardware out there, too keep lower prices on the market, but when it comes to premium flagships, I believe the economic strategies should be lowered. After all we cosumers deserve better products for their money. You agree?
